A Call for Submission of Stories - Minab School: 168 unfinished short stories
On Saturday morning February 28 2026 the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab Iran was destroyed in SEVERAL devastating U.S. airstrikeS during class hours. 168 people lost their live: educators parents and 120 young children.
Beneath the statistics lies the reality of a shattered city bereaved families and the unbearable weight of loss.
Six-Word Story
When a tragedy is this immense, sometimes the fewest words carry the heaviest weight. Could six words capture the depth of loss, the shock of an interrupted morning, or the enduring memory of the innocent? We invite you to honor the lost by taking part in this project.
Submission Guidelines
- Length: Exactly six words. No more, no less.
Focus:
- Minab School
- Human concepts (war, peace, hope, suffering, etc.)
- Children's rights
- Patriotism
- Eligibility: Open to writers globally. Submissions can be in English, Arabic or Persian.
- Submission Deadline: June 21, 2026
- Winners shall be honored.
