Iran, Finnish FMs talk diplomacy, wide range of issues
In a telephone conversation between Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, various bilateral, regional, and international matters were discussed.
In this conversation, Amirabdollahian welcomed both countries’ efforts to expand relations in various fields, highlighting the long-standing history of friendly relations between Tehran and Helsinki.
The Finnish Foreign Minister, for her part, mentioned the long history of relations and expressed Helsinki’s readiness to strengthen ties, including in judicial and consular areas.
Pointing to the developments in Ukraine, she expressed concern about the consequences of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The Finnish top diplomat further expressed gratitude for the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the transfer of Afghan refugees to Finland.
During the call, the two sides discussed developments in Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
